Chase & Sons Forestry and Landscaping
3 Summarsell Drive
Hartland, VT 05048

December 11, 2006

Dear Wood Worker,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and my business to you. My name is Greg Chase and I have been a consulting forester for 28 years, living and working in Hartland, Vermont.

Recently, I purchased a Woodmizer Sawmill LT40 and just finished construction of a solar dry kiln.  What I intend to do with this equipment is to provide you with another opportunity to purchase raw material, for your projects.

I am not really interested in a retail operation, but would like to develop a number of contacts, like yourselves, to buy a quantity of green, air dried or kiln dried lumber.

In the Forestry business, I am always coming across odd logs or quality logs that I intend to process and dry. We have access to all the tree species which are native.

My intent is to process logs to lumber and notify everyone interested, before it comes out of the kiln. The drying schedule will vary depending on the sun or lack of, like this month.

I also would be interested in working with you wood workers, who may be looking for a particular species or dimension, finding the logs and processing them to meet your project needs.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I would be grateful for any feedback you may have on this project. If you would like to be removed from my mailing list, please let me know.

I intend to compete with your other suppliers based on quality, price and service.

Thanks again, I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Greg Chase

UPDATE March 30th, 2007 -  UPDATE March 30th, 2007

Dear Woodworker,

I would like to take this opportunity to inform you that our solar kiln project works. We are about to empty the first charge in the next week or so.

This first charge was somewhat experimental with a mix of species. I have for sale approximately

- 200 BF of Black Cherry, RL, RW, sawed 1" thick
- 800 BF of Hard Maple, RL, RW, sawed 1 1/8" thick
- 300 BF of Red Oak, RL, RW, sawed 1 1/8 - 1 ¼" thick

All of this wood is ungraded and should have a mix of grades.

I would like to sell this in larger lots, 100' + and will be very flexible in price.

The moisture content currently is 7 to 9 %.

If this has any interest to any of you, please contact me.

Thank you for your time,

Greg Chase

Visitors to the site can search for programs by state, or view listings of federal, state or private programs nationwide. Timber tax fact sheets are also provided for each state.
