GOVERNOR RECEIVES WOODNET-CRAFTED CONFERENCE TABLES
October 6, 2003
By Kelly Ault
50 woodworkers, businesses, conservation organizations and state representatives gathered to celebrate the delivery of two trestle tables to the Pavilion Office Building in Montpelier. The tables were made of a historic 146-year old elm tree removed from the statehouse lawn in 2001 and Forest Stewardship Council-certified ash from Shelburne Farms. The Governor commented on the tables as symbols of the craftsmanship of Vermont's entrepreneurs and the beauty of the forested landscape. Bob Bouvier, Vermont WoodNet Chair recognized the twenty-six businesses who participated in the building of the table and Wayne Fawbush from the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund thanked the fourteen donors. Kelly Ault, from Businesses for the Northern Forest offered a special acknowledgement to Bob Bouvier for his leadership of the Governor's table project as well as the growth of Vermont WoodNet.
