Jim Cunningham of Moose Maple
Furniture is this quarters featured member. Jim who is a native of
Nashville, Tennessee, came to Vermont in 1982. But that time he was only
here for a visit. He liked what he saw so much, he moved up here in 1983
from West Palm Beach, Florida.
Jim has been in the woodworking business since 1998. He makes a host of items, from rustic furniture to pens. Jim’s specialty at the moment is making what he lovingly calls “ Vermont Hardwood Pens”. Jim says that over 95% of the wood he uses is wood other people would just throw on their burn pile. He uses very small pieces |
of wood for these unique pens.
He sells his products in the Bristol Gallery, The Grass Harp Craft Gallery in Burlington, and on his web page, www.moosemaple.com. When asked why Jim became a member, he says that he attended a meeting that David Brynne and Paul Ralston of Vermont Family Forest were presenters at. He says he liked what he saw and he wanted to be a part of it. For those of you who did not know, Jim is Vermont WoodNet’s very own web page designer. He also is the guy who updates and maintains our website too. |
Thank you Jim for continuing to be a valued Vermont WoodNet member. |

Demo Day at Woodworkers Warehouse December 15,2002 found a few of us hearty souls doing the first ever Demo Day at Woodworkers Warehouse on Williston Road in Burlington. Greg was wonderful in opening his doors to allow us a chance to show off a few of our craftsmen & women and their fine work. Greg’s staff was very helpful and supportive. We even coned Ford into making all of our signs for each display. We fed them donuts. We had a 50/50 raffle and we sold raffle tickets for the beautiful cabinet donated by Brian Jones. We are doing this again on February 8, 2003. If you would like to demo call (802) 877-0007. |
